Youth Indoor Phoenix is the performance program to prepare NSW representative teams for the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships (AYVC) which will be hosted in Bendigo, Victoria from 18-22 Septembr 2023.

Youth Indoor Phoenix is a state-wide age specific program (Under 14, U15, U16, U17, and U18) that aims to target the highest performing male and female athletes living within NSW. 

Selected athletes and coaches will go through a 3 Phase process including:

Trials: Open to any athletes born 2007 only.

Squad Phase: A group of selected athletes and coaches undergo NSW based centralised and localised development and training opportunities.

Team Phase: The Squad group is narrowed to only athletes and coaches required for the AYVC. Selected athletes and coaches undergo further centralised development and training prior to traveling to and competing at the AYVC.

*Addition of few Shadow Athletes which are official training partners and potential replacement athletes in the case of injury or illness of a team athlete. 

Important Information

Trial will be composed of two sessions - playday and trial day

Location of trial and playday: Netball Central

Time and date :

Trial day - 1pm - 5pm, 17th of June

Playday -  3pm - 7pm, 24th of June 2023

**we expect everyone to attend the trial day. Only successfully selected athletes will be invited to attend the playday. 

Who:  Athletes born 2007 only.

Trial Cost: $30 + Transaction Fee (does not contribute to program cost if you are successful)

What to wear: Volleyball NSW will not be providing trial uniforms, please wear something appropriate to move and play in.

Youth Phoenix Program

Once selected, athletes will be selected into Squad/Team phase with trainings on every Saturday starting from 1st of July until the commencement of AYVC on 18th of September 2023. 

Training camps will also include Phoenix play days. 

AYVC is set to take place yet again in Bendigo, Victoria from 18-22 September. Traveling team will depart Sydney 17th of September and return on the 22nd September 2023.
