Youth Beach Phoenix Trial

The Youth Beach State Team trial process will begin with a trial session on Maroubra beach Sunday November 5th.

Boys U14-U18 – 12-2PM

Girls U14-U18 - 2-4PM

This session will be a 2hr activity that will consist of 3 stations

1. On-court skill session - coaches will rate athletes on their ball control in passing, setting, attacking and serving.
2. Off-court gameplay education – coaches will lay out the age-appropriate game style and skill standards for state team selection
3. Anthropometric Measurements – athletes will be measured in height, arm span, standing reach, stationary jump, approach jump, speed and agility

Due to the increase in demand for Youth Beach and the high number of expected trialling athletes this trial will require an exemption if you are unable to attend. All information and data gathered from this trial activity will support athletes in their bid for Youth Beach Phoenix.

Please note that the selection phase of Youth Beach Phoenix requires that athletes also enter the Squad Camp and Youth Beach State Championships in order to be eligible for selection.

Eligible Age Groups:

U14 - Born in 2011 and later     U15 - Born in 2010 

U16 - Born in 2009                     U17 - Born in 2008

                           U18 - Born 2007

Trial Exemption - Athletes who are unable to attend this session must communicate their inability to attend this trial with the VNSW head office.
