Volleyball is a unique sport that allows for all-year participation, and the 1-Day Beach Schools Cup is a perfect opputunity for students to expand their volleyball skills and have a fun day at the beach getting a taste of beach volleyball.

We are excited to share the news that we have secured Brighton Le Sands Beach as our venue for our 2024 Beach Schools Cup. To create more playing opportunities, we have split up the Beach Schools Cup in 2 days:

Friday 25th of October – Year 10, 11 & 12

Monday 28th of October – Year 7, 8 & 9

Registrations will open on the 2nd of October and close on Sunday 13th of October.

It remains a timed competition for the matches, and we can take a maximum of 10 teams per year group due to the space we have been allowed to use by the council. This means that Year 10 boys, for example, will have a single division of up to 10 teams, and the same with each other year group. If there are fewer teams in a year group, we may have to merge them with other divisions in order to have a full division (i.e. 5 teams from year 10 and 5 teams from year 11) and provide more playing opportunities.

Note: Schools will be allowed to enter 2 teams per division, and request for more by nominating a 3rd, 4th or 5th team. Please note that these extra teams will be pending and will only be confirmed if there are spaces available in a division.

Format

For year 10, 11 and 12 the teams will consist of 2 players on court. No substitutions will be allowed.  

For year 8 and 9 the teams will consist of 3 players on court.

For year 7 the teams will consist of 4 players on court.

For year 7, 8 and 9 substitutions are allowed.

The number of players on court for each year group has been discussed with the Pathways team, and it is aligned with the format they would compete in if selected for the NSW Phoenix teams.

Registration Fee

Years 10, 11 & 12: Pairs - $80 per team

Years 8 & 9: 3 a side - $120 per team

Year 7: 4 a side - $140 per team

For years 7, 8 & 9, there is an opportunity to have a Phoenix Beach Training on the Sunday (October 27). More information will be provided soon.

Note: After entry is confirmed a team list will need to be signed by the school prinicpal and submitted to the Event Coordinator.
