Introducing Deb Chung: Volleyball NSW's New Senior Pathways Manager!

Volleyball NSW Welcomes Deb Chung as our new Senior Pathways Manager.

Volleyball NSW is excited to announce the appointment of Deb Chung as our new Senior Pathways Manager. Deb brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for volleyball, making her an invaluable addition to our team.

Deb is no stranger to volleyball, having been actively involved in the sport since 1999. She has been a dedicated member of UTS Volleyball, contributing both as a player and an administrator. Her extensive operational experience and commitment to the sport have been evident throughout her long-standing involvement.

In addition to her club commitments, Deb has made significant contributions to our state team programs. Since 2018, she has served as a Mentor Coach, providing guidance and support to young athletes. Her leadership and expertise have been instrumental in the development of our youth programs.

Deb's dedication to volleyball extends beyond coaching. She served as the Volleyball NSW Treasurer from 2012 to 2014, transitioning to the role of NSW Board President, serving from 2015 to 2021.

Volleyball NSW Interim CEO, Rebecca Walter, expressed enthusiasm about Deb's appointment: “The team at Volleyball NSW are thrilled to have Deb join us. Deb's extensive experience and passion for volleyball makes her an invaluable addition to our organisation. We look forward to her contributions and leadership in further advancing our programs and supporting our athletes and coaches”.

Deb went on to say about her appointment: “I’m really excited to take on this role with Volleyball NSW and play a part in continuing the growth of our athletes, coaches and officials in NSW. Volleyball has been a positive influence in my life and I’m ecstatic that I have such a great opportunity to give back to our sport. I look forward to working with the whole volleyball community to continue building a strong pathway in NSW.”

Deb will take over the role from Jo Fernandes, commencing part-time from the April 4th and transitioning to full-time on the May 5th. We're confident that Deb's leadership will continue to drive the success of our Pathways programs and support the growth of volleyball in NSW.

Welcome to the team, Deb! We look forward to seeing your contributions and the positive impact you will have on our community.
