2022 NSW Beach Schools Cup - Wrap Up
Published Mon 07 Mar 2022
The NSW Beach Schools Cup returned to manly Beach for the first time in 2 years, no thanks for COVID. We had 50 teams 14 Schools compete on the sands of Manly Beach on Monday 28th February 2022.
After a wet weekend in Sydney and not knowing if we'd be able to play, there was some morning fog over the beach, a sprinkle of rain but the sun came through providing a great opportunity for the athletes to enjoy the day.
In the Girls Division 1 Pairs, we saw Nowra High take the gold home and Wollongong High School of Performing Arts coming in as runners up. The Boys Division 1 saw a very tight and closely contested battle against The Scotts College and Northern Beaches Secondary College, with the Northern Beaches coming away with the win on home soil.
Girls Division 2 had International Gramnmar School against St Scholastica's College, with St Scholastica's College staying consistent over the day and taking the gold. In the Boys Divison 2, we saw The Scots College battle for Gold and Silver, but only one could walk away with bragging rights.
Girls Division 3 was full to the brim, but it was St Scholastica's College who took home the gold over St Ives and in the Boys Division 3 we had locas Northern Beaches Secondary College take the win over International Gramnmar School.
This event is aimed at high schools students of all year levels, Beach Schools Cup divides participants across three divisions: Divison 1 (Pairs), Division 2 (Pairs) then Divison 3 (3-a-side)
Volleyball NSW would like to thank Volleyball Australia for working with us on this event. Schools Cup was part of a 9 day festival that attracts participants from all over Australia.
