Australian Volleyball Super League Round 2 Recap

Round 2 of the Mahindra Australian Volleyball Super League shaped up to be a thrilling match up of two highly compeitive teams. 

Our womens team started of the evening strong by taking the a comanding lead in the first set, however the Steel women bounced back and put on a masterclass in blocking at the net. The match went back and forth unitl ultimately Perth Steel women proved to strong and took the match 3:2. NSW showed lots of promising play and will take an all important bonus point, which will help keep them in contention in the race for finals. 

Match score: 18:12, 14:18, 12:18, 18:17, 13:18

For the men's match, Perth Steel managed to edge out the NSW Phoenix in a highly contested five-set battle. The Phoenix started strong by winning the first set, but the Steel men fought back, leading to a tightly contested match.  Perth ultimately secured the victory with a final score of 4:1 after some strong attacking which proved to much for our Phoenix men to withstand. 

Match Score: 18:16, 14:18, 17:18, 15:18, 12:18
