Beach Volleyball Under 21 World Championships in Thailand
Two athletes from New South Wales are currently representing Australia among the four teams participating in the Beach Volleyball Under 21 World Championships in Thailand.
Stefanie Fejes, paired with Jasmine Fleming from Queensland, has been a standout force in the Australian contingent. This duo, having previously clinched the Asian Volleyball Confederation U21 Beach Volleyball Championships at the same venue in July, made it straight through to the main draw. They commenced their campaign with a solid 2-0 victory over Germany on Wednesday, followed by another 2-0 win against Gambia on Thursday. This morning, they secured their third win of the championships, defeating Kazakhstan 2-0. The pair sit atop Pool E and will progress to the next stage of the championship.
Another rising talent from NSW, Harley Sinclair, joined forces with Mitch Croft from Victoria as part of the Australian team. Despite a setback in their qualifying match against Canada, Sinclair's participation in an event of this calibre promises invaluable experience and growth for the young player's future in the sport.
The ongoing journey in this championship serves as a valuable platform for these athletes to not only showcase their skills but also gain vital experience and learning opportunities, enhancing their overall development in the realm of beach volleyball.
