Volleyball NSW are excited to announce our next Level 2 Coaching Course for 2023 followed bycoaching development called Foundation of Performance the next day. Level 2 coaching course and Foundation of Performance program will be held in Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation in Narrabeen. It is a L2 beach coaching course which also covers indoor content. It will take place on a beach volleyball court but the course covers indoor and beach concepts. We are looking for coaches who are ready to level up their coaching game.

As leaders in our volleyball community, coaches play an essential role in inspiring and advancing the next generation, whilst creating a fun and safe environment for all players. Without them, our sport wouldn’t be possible.

With new changes in VA accreditation, anyone who sits the Level 2 face to face course obtains a Level 2 Associate acreditation which last and can be renewed every 4 years. Coaches who wish to coach on a state level will need to progress to Level 2 State accreditation, more information to come.

Day 2 - 15th January 9am - 5pm

"Foundations of Performance" Coach Development Program

with VNSW Head of Pathways and 2012 Olympian Martin Reader

This special coach development day will cover the entire VNSW beach volleyball curriculum established to create a common language and understanding of the game in NSW. "Foundations of Performance" is the content, education and program behind the VNSW Performance Camps and State Team activities that has powered NSW to numerous national championships and AJBVC medals in 2021 and 2022. In this full coaching day, Martin will lead new and experienced coaches through the baseline skills and philosophies of beach volleyball. This will then build into game systems and offer coaches of all levels a deeper understanding of the game to support them in whatever environment they are coaching. Coaches will receive a handout booklet covering the following topics:

1. Movements and Skills

2. Offensive Systems

3. Defensive Systems

4. Serve and Sideout

5. Transition and Counterattack

The content of this education day is suitable for coaches at any level and is meant to support the development of coaches across NSW in how they lead their local environments. The subject matter will be directed towards 2's and will offer regressions that scale down into 3's and 4's.

All applicants who sign up for a Level 2 coaching course will get a discount of the coach development program for the following day.
