NSW Beach Athletes Are Heading To Paris!

Volleyball NSW is beyond excited to announce we have 2 NSW beach athletes heading to this year's Olympic Games in Paris!

After securing an additional second men's team quota spot, at the AVC continental qualifier in China from June 21st-23rd, Izac Carraher and his partner Mark Nicolaidis (QLD) have recently been announced as the second Australian Mens Beach pair heading to Paris! Izac and Mark qualified for Australia after winning the golden match final vs China 2-1 17-21, 23-21, 15-10 at the previously mentioned AVC continental qualifier.

Mariafe has qualified for her third Olympics and second with partner Taliqua Clancy (QLD). At the Tokyo 2020 games, Mariafe and Talqiua won a historic silver medal for Australia and will be looking to improve on this performance as they go for gold under the Eiffel Tower!

Both Mariafe and Izac are homegrown talent hailing from the northern beaches. Mariafe and Izac have competed for NSW in both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball, and we are excited to see them don the green and gold on the biggest sporting stage in the world! Take a look at these photos from when Mariafe and Izac were wearing the NSW Blue! Photo Credits to APAC Sports Media for caputring these amazing photos!
