NSW Athletes Shine at This Year's VolleySlam Events
NSW athletes and officials left an indelible mark at this year's VolleySlam events. Dive into the captivating story of NSW's stellar performance across each event, complete with standout highlights!
Australian Championships Results
The Mahindra Australian Beach Volleyball Championships commenced the campaign in Coolangatta, serving as the grand finale of the senior beach season. Numerous NSW athletes shone brightly during this event. Among the array of competitors, we reserve special acclaim for the following individuals who triumphantly claimed their place atop the podium:
- Men's Elite: 1st place - Tiso/ Zeba
- Women's Elite: 1st place - Fejes/ Milutinovic (SA)
- Women's Challenger 1: 3rd place - Carpenter/ Laing
- Women's Challenger 2: 1st place - De Innocentiis / Sullivan
- Women's Challenger 3: 1st place - Gorczanska / Ibacache
- Men's Challenger 4: 1st place - Brignone/ Paulino
- Women's Challenger 4: 1st place - Schaub/ Ding
A special mention goes out to Killian Donvan and Jett Rocker-Graham for winning this year's Mikasa Cup for the second year in a row. Congratulations!
AYBVC Results
Boasting our largest NSW AYBVC contingent yet, our state stood tall with a multitude of athletes vying for medals on the grand finals day. Our pairs seized an impressive 5 out of 6 medal opportunities, showcasing exceptional skill and determination. Join us in congratulating our remarkable medallists:
- U18 Boys: Gill/ Birke - 3rd place
- U18 Girls: Smith/ Song - 3rd place
- U17 Boys: Ryan/ Kumar - 2nd place
- U15 Boys: Altanshagai/ Giddins/ Syrett-Lay - 2nd place
- U14 Boys: Vivaldi/ Bennie/ Kuramochi/ Le - 2nd place
Volleyball World Tours Futures Event Highlights
The World Tours events witnessed the impressive participation of numerous members from our NSW community, showcasing the state's prowess on a global scale. Among the highlights, Stefie Fejes and her partner Jana Milutinovic (SA) successfully defended their Beach Pro Tour Futures title with finesse. Additionally, the rising talents of NSW Phoenix athletes Jett Rocker-Graham and Killian Donovan were on full display as they clinched their inaugural World Tour main draw appearance, triumphant in qualifying games against Japan and New Zealand.
On the officiating front, the event was graced by the presence of young male referee Jayden Norsworthy, while our CEO Baz Wedmaier played an integral role as the competitions organiser. Not to be forgotten, our very own VNSW Beach Volleyball Events Manager Francisco Brignone gained invaluable high-level experience as a court manager.
A resounding applause to our VNSW community for proudly representing NSW on the grand stage of international competition!
Australian Beach Schools Cup
Concluding the eventful week filled with AYBVC, Aus Champs, and World Tour Futures, a multitude of NSW athletes remained to proudly represent their schools in the Australian Schools Beach Volleyball Championships. The NSW schools in attendance this year were:

- Sydney Boys HS
- South Sydney HS
- Waverley College
- Killarney Heights
We would like to congratulate our three medallists from NSW:
- Yr 11 Boys (pairs) - Scots College - 1st place
- Yr 10 Boys (pairs) - Scots College - 3rd place
- Yr 9 Girls (pairs) - Santa Sabina College - 3rd place
