Published Tue 31 Jan 2023
At the latest Holiday Camp in Ryde our Spikeroos players were surprised by a drop in from the NSW Sports Minister, Alister Henskens SC MP. They had the opportunity to have a hit together with the Minister, as he turned his hand to trying volleyball…
"The Volleyball uptake of the Active Kid’s Voucher program continues to expand our delivery network, and the recent announcement expanding the engagement opportunities to Holiday Camps will continue to support young aspiring athletes to engage in physical activity and social connection programs throughout the year."

With the Minster we discussed all things Active Kids, the impact on the Local Community and Volleyball's future.
Since the Active Kids Program’s conception, our engagement in the AKV program has only grown, increasing 8-fold since 2018.
We will continue to expand our reach and prioritise promotion with dedicated links to ongoing playing opportunities through our club and association network.
We are excited by this modification, and it will enable us to expand our delivery focus and delivery network to meet the needs of more active kids across NSW.
The NSW Liberal and Nationals Government’s Active Kids Voucher program is the largest grassroots sport funding initiative in the nation and is driving enormous increases in participation across all sports. 🏐⚽️🏀🎾
Thanks to our extension of the program to include school holiday camps, including Volleyball New South Wales - VNSW Spikeroos camp, we’ve seen a 50% uptick over the summer break.
It might be the middle of summer, but winter sport registrations are heating up, so now is the perfect time for families to turn their attention to their new Active Kids voucher!
