This season was not without its hiccups but VNSW would like to thank all the clubs, players and officials for their overall respect and fairness shown for their competitors, coaches, referees, staff and venue. The positivity and inclusive environment we strive to achieve at all levels would not happen without the contribution of all our community members.
Thank you to Mathieu Guinand for his awesome coverage of this year's SVL finals, enjoy some of our favourite photos from finals! A full album can be found on the VNSW facebook page.
NSWVRA 2024 Wrap Up
Volleyball NSW would like also thank the NSW Referee Association, who without their ongoing support and dedication to the game our competitions would not run!
SVL 2024 Wrap Up from NSWVRA Chair Sam Chung - A huge thank you to all referees and chief referees for their efforts over the long 20 week season. Every year the competition grows even bigger, and every year it amazes me how we meet the challenge! The important thing is that each referee grew in their own confidence and ability over the course of the season and continues this fulfilling journey.
We especially like to thank all chief referees who play an instrumental role in not only ensuring the smooth delivery of the competition (in partnership with VNSW) but most importantly the growth of our referees. Special thanks also to our L2 course presenters who ushered in the latest cohort of referees.
I personally would like to thank Rachel Seo for assisting with the appointments this season.
We also thank our NSWVRA Treasurer, Laymond Chu, who selflessly ensures all our referees get paid. It is not a trivial task.
In terms of our overall season, the stats speak for themselves:
Referee Awards -A big congratulations to our 2024 SVL Referee Award winners!
Referee of the Year - Justin Ly |
Most Improved Referee of the Year - Mimmu Toh |
Rookie Referee of the Year - Allegra Garcia |
They are no doubt well deserving recipients despite the high number of nominees in each category.
