Australian Youth Championships Day 2

Today saw our two NSW Phoenix Teams come head to head. Our Phoenix Navy Second teams put up a great fight, but both Sky Teams pulled through in the end.

Our U14 Boys are quickly demonstrating that they are one of the strongest teams in their division, watch this space as we move out of the round stages. And our U14 girls achieved their first win on the competition today against Victoria and celebrated with doughnuts.

We wrapped up the day with a coach development session, where the PHX coaches discussed the art of coaching and interacting with athletes.

A huge amount of hard work and preparation has gone into this event, from athletes, coaches, parents, and the crew at VNSW, and it’s great to see its working. NSW Phoenix are doing so well at this Youth Champs, on and off the court. Wohoo!

Let’s see what Day 3 brings us!

Australian Youth Championships Day 1

Today Team Phoenix played 25 Games of volleyball, across 2 venues in Bendigo. Winning a grand total of 17 round games.

It was great to see the teams having so much fun on court. A big day for all, loaded with learning opportunities for the players that we look forward to seeing in action tomorrow.

A lot of close games and hard fought battles have tested the Phoenix on the first day of youth indoor volleyball in 3 years. Some great games were played with a lot of lessons learned that will hopefully help lead to some more great results on day 2.
