VNSW Beach Volleyball 24-25 Season Announcement
Published Fri 06 Sep 2024
Volleyball NSW is excited to announce the upcoming Beach Volleyball season. We hope everyone had a good winter, and you're getting ready for the start of the new season! We just wanted to share some of the updates you will see this season as we are getting close to our first event!
As you might have seen on our social media, we will have team registrations this season! The main reason behind it, is to avoid players missing the deadline to register and missing out on playing the events. From now on, one player registers the team and does the payment! You will need to know your partners ID number, but found attached to this article is a simple guide for you to follow with the new registration process! If you have any questions, please reach out to Francisco!
We're finalizing the last bits of the process with RevSport but registrations for the first event should be open from Monday 9th September! If you partner doesn’t have a VNSW membership they will have to contact us before the registration is done!
We will be using the new balls (Mikasa BV 550) for our events!
We will keep the one-day event format, but we will have 2 changes:
- Based on the feedback provided last season, we have rearranged the crossovers so there won’t be any matches between teams in the same pool except in the Final.
- The second change we will trial in the first 2-3 events of the season, is that we will play all the Quarter Finals (QF) at the same time. You can see it highlighted in yellow underneath, but Division 1 or 3 will take over the four courts for their QF, and then Division 2 or 4 will play their QF, and then the teams go back to their original courts for their Semi Finals (SF). Divisions 2 and 4 get some extra time before the start of their Semi Finals to avoid going straight into the next game. After the trial we provide a survey to capture the feedback and make adjustments if necessary.
Last thing for now, please be aware that if you're planning to play the Maroubra Comp, our first game will start at 7:30am as we still haven’t change daylight savings time! For all other events, the first game will start at 8:00am in the morning. Stay tuned for more updates to come...
