VNSW Staff Attend Volleyball Australia Sports Development Conference

Volleyball Australia recently hosted its Sports Development Conference at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, with several Volleyball NSW staff members in attendance. Running from February 17th to 20th, inspiring collaboration and innovation in our sport. It featured a variety of seminars on topics such as Club Development, Play Well, Leadership and Collaboration, and Sporting Schools, led by both Volleyball Australia staff and Australian Sports Commission members. These sessions provided an excellent opportunity for learning, growth, and insightful discussions to deepen our understanding of the sport.

One of the standout experiences for the VNSW team was the practical sessions, which offered hands-on insights into volleyball. These interactive sessions allowed us to hone our skills, deepen our knowledge of the game’s fundamentals, and explore what makes volleyball an inclusive and exciting sport. The competitive spirit was alive and well among our team, sparking both personal and professional growth.

In addition to the seminars, we also had the unique opportunity to observe the daily training environment of the Australian Volleyball Academy athletes. Watching these future stars in action, from their intense training to their collaborative teamwork, was inspiring and gave us a glimpse into the development of potential future Olympians.

This conference proved to be an invaluable networking opportunity, allowing us to connect with VA staff and engage with members from other state organisations. We’re excited to bring the knowledge and insights gained from this experience back to the VNSW community and apply it to strengthen our programs further.
