Volleyball NSW Coach Expression of Interest

Volleyball in NSW is growing, and we are looking for new coaches to join our team.

Whether you have coached your whole life, are just beginning your coaching career, or are passionate about volleyball and looking to make some extra money around studies – we have something for you.

We have programs for all levels, from beginner participation to performance, there is never a quiet moment in our timetable.

Prior coaching experience is not necessary, but commitment and passion for our sport is essential.

Details

Coach Focus

Sporting Schools - Spikezone

  • Age: School Students
  • Size: 20-30 participants
  • Location: All NSW
  • Time: School hours, Mon – Fri 8am – 4pm
  • Opportunity: full day (up to 4-6 sessions) or 1 session delivered weekly.

Teaching fundamental skills, rules, and tactics to young school students. Emphasis on fun, maximum participation, group control and skill development.

Spikeroos Term Program

  • Age: 8-17 years
  • Location: All NSW
  • Time: Termly 8-week program, afterschool hours or weekends.
  • Opportunity: 1.5-hour sessions

Teaching participants the basics of volleyball, setting up games and creating a supportive training environment where participant can learn new skills and make new friends.

Spikeroos Holiday Camps

  • Age: 8-17 years
  • Location: All NSW
  • Time: 4.5 hours, weekdays in school holidays 08:00 – 18:00
  • Opportunity: Multiple camp coaching opportunities during the school holidays

Coaches provide an opportunity for kids to have fun and make new friends. Teaching volleyball-specific skills and techniques, teamwork and game play throughout the duration of the camp.

Regional Academies of Sport

  • Age: 12-17 years
  • Location: Hunter, Illawarra, North Coast, Southwest Sydney, Western Sydney, Central Coast
  • Timing: Evenings and weekends
  • Opportunity: Fortnightly coaching for Indoor Season (Feb – Aug), with option for state travel to Academy Games.

Coaching focus is on skill development, to provide regional athletes further opportunity to develop and progress onto Phoenix Pathways.

Phoenix Performance Program

 

  • Age: Senior, Junior (U19, U21, U23), & Youth (U14-U18)
  • Location: Sydney + Interstate Travel Opportunities
  • Time: Programs happen in centralised camps, with weekly training slots pre or post work/school.

Phoenix programs prioritise purpose over performance. Coaches learn how to progress athletes through skill development in preparation for Nationals. Head Coaches are responsible for leading their teams and receive ongoing support from mentor coaches.
